A sterile processing Instrument Technician sterilizes and assembles all the equipment required for surgery, exams, and other medical procedures. They are responsible for proper handling, cleaning, assembly, testing and packaging of many kinds of medical instruments. They are also responsible for taking inventory and ordering equipment/instruments as needed. This individual is responsible for the maintenance of accurate sterilization records for all machine tests as well as a monthly report: has technical ability to operate ultrasonic, steam, Sterrad equipment. Is responsible for thorough and complete processing of all reusable surgical instruments and performs these functions in accordance with state and federal regulatory requirements.


  • Previous operating room experience preferred.
  • Certified Sterile Processing Tech preferred
  • High school graduate preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
