POSITION SUMMARY

The Master Scheduler arranges for the efficient and orderly scheduling of all patients while also making sure the patient information is collected and that patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures. Scheduling clerks interview incoming calls and enters information required for admissions into computer data base, while also distributing information to ancillary departments. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills to provide service appropriate to age of the patient over phone. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and poses the ability to assess data reflective of the patients' status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age specific needs, and to provide the service needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures and skills check list.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma.
  • One year of specialized training in healthcare field.
  • One year hospital experience with specialized training or 3-4 years hospital experience where medical testing was involved for high school graduate.
  • LPN or Rad Tech experience preferred
