Respiratory Therapy Tech - Evenings
The RT Equipment Technician is responsible for decontaminating and re-assembling RT equipment per policies and procedures for invasive and noninvasive ventilators. Must be able to do ventilator checks when calibrating and assembling ventilators. Technician will also be responsible for stocking and cleanliness of all code bags, difficult intubation carts, RT bronchial carts and all neonatal intubation cart/boxes. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills to provide the appropriate service . The individual must demonstrate some basic knowledge of respiratory therapy, as in performing checks on ventilators and identifying appropriate RT supplies. Must have good clerical and organizational skills so all equipment, carts and boxes are documented appropriately. The RT equipment Technician will have some basic RT training, whether retired respiratory therapist or respiratory therapist student preferably. Must follow all RT infection control policies as well as facility Infection Control Policies.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma. One year specialized training in healthcare field.
- One year hospital experience with specialized training or 3-4 years hospital experience where medical testing was involved for high school graduate.
- LPN preferred
