OB - Scrub Tech - PRN - Rotating Shift
Surgical technicians assist in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses or other surgical personnel. The scrub tech functions under the supervision of the OR Charge Nurse/director and is responsible for scrubbing all types of procedures, anticipating the needs of the surgeon, passing sterile instruments, having knowledge of scpecial equipmnent and instrumentation used in the OR, strictly adheres to the basic prinicples and practices of aseptic technique, maintains standards of care in the department, and assists the surgical team in the delivery of perioperative care to surgical patients. Primarily responsible for preparing the operating room by setting up the equipment and sterilizing tools that are necessary for the operation. They are also responsible for making sure all equipment is working properly which may involve the assemble of some materials.
Completion of a community college, vocational education, or hospital training program in surgical technology. One year hospital operating room experience preferred. BLS Healthcare Provider Status-required New Hires required to acquire BLS and COAP within first 90 days of employment.
