Assist Controller with preparing operating budgets for the hospital in a timely manner. Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations for Hospital and related companies. Assist Controller in ensuring Hospital is Compliant with all SOX requirements, that all support is properly documented, and any issues identified are followed-up in a timely manner. Provide support to Controller in all accounting functions including month end close processes, and financial reporting. Prepare monthly statistical reporting. Assist Controller in providing oversight and guidance to Accounting Staff. Assist hospital department managers in understanding and interpreting financial data for their respective cost centers. Prepares and distributes monthly financial data to unit directors. Assist Controller with preparation of monthly expense projections. Provides oversight for Accounts Payable to ensure expenses are properly coded in the general ledger, and that sales and use tax are properly paid or accrued. Assists in gathering and presenting information as requested for the preparation of Medicare Cost Reports, internal and external audits, healthcare surveys, and other financial reporting as required. Must be proficient in applying GAAP, and state and federal regulations as related to Healthcare Finance.
College degree in Accounting is required; CPA certificate preferred.
Minimum five (5) years experience in hospital financial management or senior manager level auditing.
Must have a thorough knowledge of accounting, business law and government regulations. Must possess the ability to relate well to people and accomplish goals through their efforts. Must possess oral and written communication skills.
